Terms of service
The terms that apply when you ask us for a quote or book work. Last updated 8 November 2026.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to work we do for you as a consumer (someone who is not buying for a business) and to your use of this website. Together with your written quote they make up our contract. If your quote says something different, the quote applies.

2. Quotes and prices
Quotes are free and tailored to the work your lawn needs. A quote is valid for the period shown on it, or 30 days if none is shown.
The price on your quote is the price you pay, including VAT where it applies. We will not add charges you have not been told about. If we find during the work that something extra is needed, we will tell you what and how much first, and only go ahead if you agree.
If you ask for advice rather than a quote, we will tell you before we start whether there is any charge.
3. Making a contract
A contract is made when you accept our quote and we confirm the work and a start date. We will confirm the work, the price and any dates in writing, by email or message.
4. Access and your responsibilities
You do not need to be at home for a scheduled lawn cut as long as we have safe access to your garden. Please tell us about anything we cannot see that could affect the work, such as buried pipes, cables, irrigation or drains, and about pets or hazards in the garden.
5. Dates and weather
We agree dates with you. Lawn work depends on weather and ground conditions, so we may need to move a visit. If we do, we will tell you and rearrange. If we cannot do work you have paid for, we will refund the part not done.
6. Payment
We will tell you how and when to pay in your quote or invoice.
7. Cancelling and refunds
You have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of agreeing a contract. Our refunds and cancellations page explains how, and what happens to payments.
8. Our standard of work
We will do the work with reasonable care and skill. Lawns are living things affected by weather, soil, shade, wear, pests and disease, so we cannot promise a particular result. If something is not right, tell us and we will put it right or talk through the options. None of this affects your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
9. Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Otherwise, we are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or being negligent.
10. Referral scheme
The referral scheme has its own short referral terms.
11. This website
The text and photos on this website are ours or used with permission, so please do not copy them without asking. Prices and details of work always come from your written quote. We link to other sites (WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram) that we do not control.
12. Complaints
If something goes wrong, contact us at Swardlineturf@gmail.com or on 07469 254923 and we will try to sort it out. If we cannot settle a complaint, we will tell you in writing whether we are willing to use an approved alternative dispute resolution provider.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. The terms in force when you accepted your quote apply to that job.
